ICC’s new rules are going to come into effect from October 1. Many decisions taken in the ICC meeting in May will now be implemented in ODI and Test cricket. Any changes will be seen in the ODI series against Team India and England starting from October 14. Now two balls will be used in an ODI innings, but now this will not happen after one ball becomes old, instead the first over will be bowled with one ball, the second over with the new ball and so on, 25 overs with one ball and 25 overs with the other. Will be thrown with the ball. Now it will show you the runner in the field because according to the new rules of ICC, the batsman cannot use the runner in any format of cricket.
However, many former cricketers have criticized this rule of ICC. Also, if the batsman is injured then he can be retired hurt but he cannot come to bat before 9 wickets fall. Now the rules for taking powerplay have changed in ODI. Whereas earlier the second and third powerplays could be taken anytime after the first powerplay, now the second powerplay can be taken only after the 16th over and the third powerplay should be over before the 40th over. Now a batsman can get out in another way. If the batsman deliberately comes in the middle of the wicket while taking runs to avoid run out, then the umpire can give him out and this will be called obstructing the field. Also, according to the old rules, if the batsman tries to come in between the fielders in any other way, the umpire can still give him out. So these were the big changes which will be fully implemented in cricket from October 1 and the ODI series between Team India and England will also be played with these rules.
